Burdock has strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It also acts as an active diuretic and diaphoretic substance; used for treatment of catarrhal gastrointestinal tract, liver dysfunctions, metabolic disorders; helps to prevent hair loss and dandruff.
Roots contain sugar, inulin, proteins, fats, phytosterols, a small amount of essential oil, glycosides, saponins, and a lot of sulfur, phosphorus and vitamin C.
